DIY-- Chain Maxi Dress-- New Look 6372

DIY   - Halter Chain Maxi Dress -   New Look  6122 View C When I first saw this pattern I knew I NEEDED to make it! It was simple enough and just what I needed to satisfy my sewing itch! When I went to the Quilting and Sewing Expo this past April in Massachusetts, I decided to snoop around other local and not so local (bit more of a drive) fabric shops. One store in particular I fell in love with is Sewfisticated Discount Fabric Store in Framingham, MA. The fabric in here is of good qaulity and costs anywhere from $2.99 to $6.99 a yard. This is where I got this beautiful polyester fabric. I took what was left on the bolt. Maybe about 6 yards or so. I knew I was going to make more than one of something, just didn't know what. Sooo....3 months later I figured out what I was going to make with it. I honestly love when patterns are only 5-6 pattern pieces or less. Stephanie Goes to New York -- Part 1 -- Garment District

Hello blogging world.  This past weekend I traveled to the Garment / Fashion District in New York City!! Now I have been to New York a few times, but this was the first time I was traveling specifically for the Garment District.  It is only about a 1hr 50min train ride for me. It goes even faster when you take a cat nap!                      All Aboard!!!! I ended up having to take the 10:25 AM train because I missed the 9:46 AM by 2 minutes!!! The traffic on the highway that day was insane!!                                 This is the Garment District Kiosk.  It is located between 7th Ave and 39th Street.  When I went the kiosk was closed!! There was a sign on the door that said it was closed and to find information on their web...

DIY -- Jean Dress -- Burda Young 7225

DIY - Jean Dress - Burda Young 7225  View B Hey fellow blogging world. I couldn't wait to post this dress I made because I was so proud of it when I finally finished.  It did take me all day b/c I was doing things around the house at the same time. Sundays are always busy at home, but I was determined to get this dress made.  I was dreaming about it!! I have to really get my daughter to take closer pictures! LOL  What am I going to do when school starts, my photographer will be in the 5th grade! I will be honest, I love patterns that do not have many pieces to cut out.  As much as I love cutting patterns and fabric...I don't want to be cutting just the pattern for 45 minutes! The fabric I used is a stretch jean material.  I purchased it from Walmart a few months ago with this pattern in mind. I don't know exactly the percentage of stretch anymore because I bought it so long ago.  I remember wanting it to get over my curve...
