DIY   - Halter Chain Maxi Dress -   New Look  6122 View C When I first saw this pattern I knew I NEEDED to make it! It was simple enough and just what I needed to satisfy my sewing itch! When I went to the Quilting and Sewing Expo this past April in Massachusetts, I decided to snoop around other local and not so local (bit more of a drive) fabric shops. One store in particular I fell in love with is Sewfisticated Discount Fabric Store in Framingham, MA. The fabric in here is of good qaulity and costs anywhere from $2.99 to $6.99 a yard. This is where I got this beautiful polyester fabric. I took what was left on the bolt. Maybe about 6 yards or so. I knew I was going to make more than one of something, just didn't know what. Sooo....3 months later I figured out what I was going to make with it. I honestly love when patterns are only 5-6 pattern pieces or less. It makes me happier to get to the sewing faster than to be cutting for hours. ...

February Budget 'Cuse My French I broke the bloody hell out of the bank!! It has taken me a few extra weeks to get my budget post up for February because I knew I busted the bank wide open...I just wasn't ready to share yet! LOL I couldn't really be mad at myself though.  Even though I have set myself to stay on budget, some things just can't be helped. DIY --Sweatsuit -- New Look 6142 This project was a long time in the making. I bought pattern in the spring of last year with the thought of making a warm sweatsuit this winter.  I purchased this fabric of course from Joann Fabrics on Black Friday! I was on another blog one day and after reading the blogger say there was no stretch I was a little bummed. I didn't realize even after I bought it was there was no stretch to it, but I still wanted to make this outfit anyway and I wasn't letting that stop me. I have no idea what happened to my borders for the other pics...they just disappeared. The fabric I chose for the top and bottom was a sweatshirt fleece in a hot pink and black.  I love patterns that don't have many pieces to cut! I didn't take many pictures of sewing the sweat jacket. I did have to take up in the sleeve cap and adjust the shoulders.  Because this is unisex there will have to be some adjustments made for a more petit...

DIY- Cowl Neck Tunic View A - McCall's M6612 I have an obsession with trying to find long shirts or tunics to wear with leggings. My backside has to be covered at all times!! I am totally out of my comfort zone if its not.  When I saw this pattern I couldn't resist. It's stylish and can be worn with tights and leggings.  I do have a short attention span at times so it looked quick enough for me to do in a day or two with stopping to go to work and taking care of kids. I'm sad I didn't take a pic of the fabric like I normally do for my other posts.  I believe I purchased this fabric at Joann Fabrics.  It was an impulse purchase that I had no idea what I was going to make with it.  You cant tell by the picture, but it has a very faint amount of sparkle to it.  It's a light weight jersey knit. DIY - Pajamas - See & Sew B4322 I know I haven't posted in awhile. I have been sewing behind the scenes, but I have been soo busy at the hospital lately posting things I have made has been a challenge. Hope everyone is well!! So I decided to make pjs for my kids. This is the first time I have ever made pajamas and I'm excited about the outcome. Remember I'm still new to sewing and I learn something new everyday!! My daughter loves the Chicago Bulls and my son loves The Walking Dead. So I found the perfect fabric that made them both happy!! I used a see & sew pattern that was very easy to follow! Mr. Grumpy decided he wanted to be in the picture! All the Anti-Pill Fleece was purchased at Joann fabric. DIY -- Simplicity Pattern 1367 -- View A (Jo-Ann Fabric Pattern # S0563) I finally got around to using the fabric that I purchase from fabric.com a few months ago. I liked it so much when I saw it, I just bought 2 yards without really having an idea in mind.  If you are a follower of my blog you probably saw this fabric in my fabric haul 3 posting. The fabric is Kaufman Laguna Stretch Jersey Knit Chevron Emerald .   I love when you only have to cut a few pieces instead of 10-12!!  I bought just enough to do this project.  I think at first I did want to make a maxi dress.  Because I didn't have a pattern to go off of when I purchased it, that idea was scraped really quick.  That's what happens with impulse buys on your lunch break at work.  This was a quick and easy sew.  Just sew up the side seams leaving how ever many inches you want for your side slit un-sewn.  I had in my stash left over black spande...

DIY --  Beach Wrap Hello fellow bloggers!!  I decided to try something different and make a beach wrap pattern from a bath wrap I had in my closet, but after I had already bought the fabric (that I didn't know what I wanted to do with it yet when I bought it). LOL I was in Joann Fabrics a few days ago to buy specific fabric for a project that I knew I was going to be making in the next few days....when I came across this mesh performance fabric . I don't honestly can't remember buying it...even if it was a few days ago.  This habit is a disease I tell yeah!  I found this in the back of my closet. My mother bought this for me when I was 17 I think soooo its been there for about 13 years now.  I drafted a pattern from it.  Something free hand and quick.  I didn't want this to be an all day sewing project.  Just a little 2-hour project to use my machine.
