DIY   - Tunic -   Simplicity 2255 View A I haven't posted in awhile because I have been working on some business ventures as of late.  Two opportunities have been brought to the table for me and I have decided to jump on them.  I will be sharing more on this in a later post.  Most of my posts are always about firsts.  That may still be because in my eyes I am still a beginner (novice) sewer.  I got up the courage to try my first button up shirt. I have had the pattern for a while but was very intimidated by it.  The shirting fabric I decided to use was purchased at Mood in NYC when I was there in September. So I did my best with the trying to cut all the patterns out to line up with each other in the end. I think I did pretty well. DIY - Butterick B6130 - View D January Pretty Girls Sew Date Night Challenge Pretty Girls Sew  has a sewing challenge posted monthly.  I have never joined one before. I was a little apprehensive about joining because I still consider myself a beginner... may even consider myself an advanced beginner. DIY --Sweatsuit -- New Look 6142 This project was a long time in the making. I bought pattern in the spring of last year with the thought of making a warm sweatsuit this winter.  I purchased this fabric of course from Joann Fabrics on Black Friday! I was on another blog one day and after reading the blogger say there was no stretch I was a little bummed. I didn't realize even after I bought it was there was no stretch to it, but I still wanted to make this outfit anyway and I wasn't letting that stop me. I have no idea what happened to my borders for the other pics...they just disappeared. The fabric I chose for the top and bottom was a sweatshirt fleece in a hot pink and black.  I love patterns that don't have many pieces to cut! I didn't take many pictures of sewing the sweat jacket. I did have to take up in the sleeve cap and adjust the shoulders.  Because this is unisex there will have to be some adjustments made for a more petit...

DIY - Jean Dress - Burda Young 7225  View B Hey fellow blogging world. I couldn't wait to post this dress I made because I was so proud of it when I finally finished.  It did take me all day b/c I was doing things around the house at the same time. Sundays are always busy at home, but I was determined to get this dress made.  I was dreaming about it!! I have to really get my daughter to take closer pictures! LOL  What am I going to do when school starts, my photographer will be in the 5th grade! I will be honest, I love patterns that do not have many pieces to cut out.  As much as I love cutting patterns and fabric...I don't want to be cutting just the pattern for 45 minutes! The fabric I used is a stretch jean material.  I purchased it from Walmart a few months ago with this pattern in mind. I don't know exactly the percentage of stretch anymore because I bought it so long ago.  I remember wanting it to get over my curve...
