Girl's Weekend Getaway Bag The Weekend Duffel So I decided to step away from making garments and try my hand at making a bag.  I didn't want to make just any type of hand bag, but some thing that would be useful on my weekend trips.  When it gets warm again this bag will be used regularly!!  I bought the Weekend Duffel class from Craftsy.com over the Christmas Holiday when they were having a sale.  I finally got to dig in. There was a crazy amount of template measurements cut out of poster board.  I used the long bag measurements which were 23¼" x 10¼" x 8¼".  If I was going to make the regular size bag the measurements would be 19¼" x 10 ¼" x 8 ¼". DIY --  Beach Wrap Hello fellow bloggers!!  I decided to try something different and make a beach wrap pattern from a bath wrap I had in my closet, but after I had already bought the fabric (that I didn't know what I wanted to do with it yet when I bought it). LOL I was in Joann Fabrics a few days ago to buy specific fabric for a project that I knew I was going to be making in the next few days....when I came across this mesh performance fabric . I don't honestly can't remember buying it...even if it was a few days ago.  This habit is a disease I tell yeah!  I found this in the back of my closet. About a week ago I came across a Google+ post from www.thezenofmaking.com  about crocheting around ordinary washers that you can purchase from your local hardware store.  I knew as soon as I saw them I wanted to do the exact same thing to my plain old boring washers.  What stinks now is my future posts of projects I have taken pictures of with the weights on the pattern, don't have the nice bright colors of yarn on them. I have not crocheted anything in over two years, but I quickly realized that it is just like riding a bike.  Once you have learned how to do it, you really never forget.  You may need a quick refresher on the different types of stitches, but it all comes rushing back.  I purchased my washers from Lowes Home Inprovement Store  about 2 months ago. They weren't expensive.  I want to say about 35 Cents a piece. I only purchased 10.   I may have to purchased more because I had so much fun crocheting. ...
